Hydrogen is on the path to becoming a crucial enabler of the worldwide clean energy effort, due to its ability to reduce emissions from major industries, such as transportation and electricity generation. In recent years, both researchers and governments have shown increased interest in hydrogen as a way to achieve net-zero emission goals. Despite this, a gap remains between research developments and their practical applications. Many studies focus on hydrogen production or storage, but only a few offer a detailed view of how technologies, economics, and policies intersect on a global scale. The objective of this study is to address the gap existing in the literature. It includes a bibliometric and systematic literature review (SLR) of 455 research articles published between 2020 and 2025. The review examines the entire value chain, from production and storage to transportation and utilization of green hydrogen. It emphasizes major research trends, emerging technologies, economic factors, and efficiency. The study covers various manufacturing methods, storage systems, and transportation networks to highlight economic and environmental disparities. Additionally, this study examines policy and incentive models that promote hydrogen adoption worldwide. By integrating bibliometric data with a systematic analysis, this study is dedicated to offer policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers working in the green hydrogen sector with valuable insights.
